Don Hill and Paul Genet showing us the goods. The Bass Anglers Federation held our May tournament at Callville Bay, Lake Mead. Saturdays weather was spectacular after a week of up and down weather of high winds with gusts of over 50mph Wednesday and Thursday coupled with a 30 degree temperature drop. The day started with light wind up to 5mph as the seven teams idol out to launch. Richard Powers volunteered to be launch boat and sent everyone on their way. After 9 1/2 hrs of fishing everyone showed op at Rufus cove to weigh their catch. Third place team was Greg Cypress, who fished alone, weighed 5 fish @ 10.79 lbs. 3.14lb big fish. Second place was the team of Sam Schiers and Jon Whisenant bringing 5 bass to the scales @ 11.56 lbs and a 2.64 big fish. First place and most of the money went to Don Hill and Paul Genet. Don and Paul had what he described as " one of the top 3 days at Lake Mead in 5 years" catching most of their weight by 7:30am. The winning team weighed 13.61 lbs with a big fish of 3.30 lbs. Biggest fish honors went to Richard Powers just edging out Don Hill by 4oz. with a 3.57 lb largemouth bass. Congratulations to Don and Paul for puttin' the smack down on the field.
